U.S. Army MOS 36B is the enlisted Military Occupational Specialty for a Financial Management Technician. This job is responsible for managing military pay, processing travel vouchers, handling vendor invoices, reviewing contracts, and executing day-to-day accounting and budgeting for Army funds.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting & Budgeting: Receive and post financial documents into automated budget and tracking systems.

Disbursing & Pay: Process treasury checks, compute pay and deductions, and manage travel vouchers.

Vendor Payments: Review and pay vendor invoices and procurement contracts.

Financial Reporting: Maintain financial files, ledger books, and periodic cost reports.

Training & Qualifications

Basic Training: 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training (BCT).

Advanced Individual Training (AIT): Roughly 8 to 10 weeks of instruction at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, focusing on military finance operations and software.

ASVAB Score: Requires a minimum Clerical (CL) score of 101.

Security Clearance: Requires a Secret security clearance.
