Welcome to Hire the Veterans!!
Hire The Veterans (HTV) is a military-connected employment platform serving both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Military-connected means more than veterans alone. HTV serves veterans, retirees, reservists and other eligible serving members, military spouses and their immediate families, Gold Star and bereaved military families, students and recent graduates, and others whose employment path is connected to military service.
We connect that community with employers who recognize the value of military training, experience, skills, leadership, and discipline.
We believe that finding employment involves more than displaying a list of available jobs.
HTV helps people understand how their military experience and skills relate to the civilian workforce, explore opportunities they may not have considered, and find employers currently looking for those capabilities.
For employers, the goal is equally straightforward: provide access to military-connected talent while giving organizations useful information about how their individual employment opportunities are performing.
Better information helps both sides make better decisions.
Every part of HTV is being developed around the needs of military-connected people and the employers seeking to hire them.
Country-aware profiles understand that a DD-214 and a Certificate of Service are not the same thing. Clearance information reflects US and UK systems. Employment opportunities cross government, Civil Service, and private-sector markets. Resources and terminology are developed around the country in which they apply.
One platform. Two markets. Built around the differences between them.
Who We Serve
* Veterans, Active Duty and Reserve, National Guard and Retired Service Members
Veterans transitioning from military service and those serving in the Reserve Forces or National Guard can explore civilian opportunities using the experience they already have.
Military occupations, skills, experience, clearances, and other qualifications can help identify civilian career paths and current employment opportunities where those capabilities are relevant.
HTV isn't here to decide what career you should pursue. Our job is to give you useful information, show you possibilities, and let you decide what comes next.
* Military Spouses and Families
Military service affects more than the individual wearing the uniform. It affects the whole family. Spouses and military family members can face relocation, deployments, interrupted careers, changing employment markets, and circumstances that traditional employment platforms may not recognize. HTV provides access to employment opportunities, career resources, job alerts, and other tools designed to support the broader military-connected community.
* Gold Star and Bereaved Military Families
Gold Star families in the United States and bereaved military families in the United Kingdom remain part of the military-connected community. Parents, spouses, siblings, children, and other eligible family members can access employment opportunities and applicable resources through HTV.
* Students and Recent Graduates
Entering the workforce for the first time presents a different challenge from transitioning out of an established military career. HTV includes employment pathways and opportunities for students and recent graduates, including those within the military-connected community who are beginning to establish their civilian careers.
* Employers
HTV is designed to provide employers with more than another place to post a vacancy. Employers can post opportunities, manage listings and applications, reach military-connected candidates, and monitor how individual job postings are performing. HTV provides employers with meaningful information about candidate interest and individual job performance so recruiting teams can better understand what is happening with their opportunities. As the platform develops, those analytical capabilities will continue to expand. HTV provides the information.
The employer makes the decision.
From Military Experience to Civilian Opportunity
Military service may have a beginning and an end, but the experience, skills, responsibilities, and connections that come with it continue long afterward. HTV is being built to help you understand where those experiences can take you next.
The work performed in service can involve technical knowledge, leadership, troubleshooting, logistics, maintenance, communications, security, healthcare, administration, project management, and thousands of other capabilities that also exist throughout the civilian economy.
HTV aids in helping you connect those worlds.
- Start with what you did in military service.
- Understand how that experience relates to the civilian workforce.
- Explore civilian occupations where those capabilities may apply.
- Then see current opportunities on HTV where employers are looking for relevant experience and skills.
The objective isn't to tell someone what they should become. It is to help them understand what they could become.
What Makes HTV Different
Free for Job Seekers
Veterans, reservists, military spouses, military-connected family members, Gold Star and bereaved families, students, recent graduates, and other eligible job seekers pay nothing to search for employment.
We don't belive in pressuring you to create an account simply to begin exploring opportunities. Registration becomes useful when you want access to features that require a profile or ongoing interaction, such as saved information, personalized tools, job alerts, application tracking, and other account-based services.
So we encourage you to explore first then register when the additional tools become useful to you.
More Information for Employers
Finding the right people requires more than simply posting a job and waiting for applications. HTV is designed to give employers greater insight into how their individual job opportunities are performing. Rather than relying solely on broad platform-wide numbers, employers can review information associated with their own listings and better understand how candidates are interacting with those opportunities. A job receiving views but little further interest tells a different story from one candidates are saving or choosing to pursue.
As HTV's analytical capabilities continue to develop, employers will have access to additional information that can help them identify those differences and ask better questions about their recruiting efforts. That information might help an employer examine the position itself, its location, compensation, requirements, presentation, or other factors affecting candidate interest. HTV's role is not to decide what the employer should change.
Our role is to provide meaningful information that helps the employer make that decision.
We are built for Dual Markets
From Day One HTV is not a US employment platform with a UK page added afterward. Registration, profiles, job listings, address formats, clearance systems, terminology, government employment structures, currencies, resources, and other parts of the platform are designed around the country in which they apply.
You will find country flags throughout HTV which are designed to help you determine which country is valuable for your experience since they are different in each location. The United States and United Kingdom may share a language, but they do not share identical military, employment, government, family-support, or transition systems. HTV is built with those differences in mind.
Information Rather Than Assumptions
Technology can help us identify relationships, uncover possibilities, and make information easier to understand. As technology continues to evolve, so will the ways HTV uses it. But we believe technology should support human judgment, not replace it.
A resume is more than a collection of keywords.
While many automated employment systems rely heavily on keywords and buzzwords when scanning a resume, HTV takes a broader view. We look beyond individual words to the scope of what you did, the skills and experience involved, how those capabilities were used, and how they may relate to opportunities in the civilian workforce. This can be especially important with military experience, where a military occupation, title, or description may not clearly communicate to a civilian employer everything that person was trained to do or became responsible for doing.
We don't just look for matching words. We look for relationships. For candidates, technology can help identify relationships between military experience, skills, civilian occupations, employers, and available opportunities—including possibilities they may not have previously considered. HTV provides that information while leaving the individual in control of what they choose to explore and pursue.
For employers, technology can help identify patterns and provide meaningful information about recruiting activity and individual job performance. HTV provides the information while leaving hiring professionals to apply their own experience, knowledge, and judgment.
HTV will continue to adopt new technology where it provides genuine value. But as that technology becomes more capable, we believe maintaining the human element becomes more important—not less. Technology should help people make better-informed decisions. People should still make the decisions.
Built to Keep Developing
HTV is not being built around the assumption that the first solution will always be the best solution. As the needs of candidates, military families, and employers change, the platform must be willing to change with them. Feedback, experience, and real-world results will help shape that development. If something isn't working, we want to know. If something is missing, tell us. And when the evidence shows there is a better way to do something, we should be willing to change it.
As HTV grows, new features and technologies will continue to be explored and added where they provide genuine value. Technology will change, employment markets will change, and the needs of the military-connected community will change. HTV should never become so set in the way something has always been done that it stops asking whether there is a better way to do it. That doesn't mean adding technology simply because it is new. It means using technology where it can make the employment journey more informative, useful, and personal while keeping people at the centre of the process. If you have an idea, suggestion, criticism, or feature request, we want to hear it. Your input, along with what we learn from how the platform is actually being used, can help shape what HTV becomes next.
Remember, we are here to assist you in your search and your endeavours, whether you're a job seeker looking for your next opportunity or an employer looking for the right people.
We hope you find the information, tools, and opportunities to aid you along the way.
Enjoy your experience, and we welcome you to Hire the Veterans.
